BRAD is an international outreach program through Americans for Medical Progress (AMP) that seeks to increase public awareness about animal roles in biomedical research and the resulting medical advancements that benefit humans and animals. The AALAS National Meeting is the largest gathering in the world of professionals concerned with the production, care, and use of laboratory animals. During the five days of the meeting, members and nonmembers come together to enjoy the workshops, lectures, poster sessions, and exhibits.

AALAE promotes, educates and fosters open communication while providing resources to the lab animal community regarding behavior management and enrichment practices. They intend to advance lab animal welfare by providing resources to all lab animal facilities on cost-effective options to improve the psychological health of laboratory animals.
